How to read this chart

The tool takes data from the 2019 e-petition to revoke article 50 and remain in the EU, and compares it to experimental voting statistics from the EU referendum held in 2016.

Each point on the chart represents one parliamentary constituency in the UK. Colours denote the political party of the Member of Parliament that represents that constituency.

Clicking a circle in the legend will toggle visiblity of all points associated with that legend entry.

The axes represent the percentage of people who voted remain in each area (y-axis, left side) and the percentage of people who have signed the petition to revoke article 50 and remain in the EU (x-axis, bottom).

The higher up a point is, the higher the proportion of people who voted to remain. The further to the right a point is, the higher the proportion of people who have signed the petition.

If a point is in the bottom left corner, then few people voted to remain, and few have signed the petition. If top-right, many people voted to remain, and many signed the petition.
